Let me dust off some of this flour from my hair so I can introduce myself

My name is Fainna and I’ve been in the kitchen baking since the ripe ol’ age of 10 when I decided to bake a Strawberry Shortcake for my mom on Mother’s Day.

Sure, it wasn’t the prettiest thing in the world. It looked more like melted whipped cream meets overcooked cake BUT she still appreciated it which encouraged me to fix the gaps in my baking!

I’ve baked almost every day since that day which is why baking became the greatest passion in my life!

Getting involved in the kitchen has drawn me closer to my mother and my grandmother who I consider saints in the kitchen. There’s something about grandma’s baking that makes you feel as if you stepped foot into heaven.

While I already have many years of baking experience, I constantly experiment with various baking methods and desserts which expands my baking knowledge with each passing day!

While I’m into baking, my husband Denis is really into sports and personal finance. But I have to admit, ever since we got married he did put on a few pounds... But I don’t hear him complaining about it. You can check out his About Me page here!

I’m Not Just A Baker…

When I’m not in the kitchen cleaning up the sugar I spilled over, I’m sitting in my biotechnology lab studying principles in genetics to help prevent (or even cure) diseases in the future.

When I’m in the lab, I almost feel like I’m in the kitchen. With all the chemicals and beakers, it’s as if I’m baking a cake there, but with less-pleasant-smelling substances!

My husband and I decided to create BakingNook.com as a way to share my baking experience with the world and to create an ever-lasting corner (NOOK) on the internet where people can come to learn.
