If you’re like me, you love muffins! They are the perfect breakfast food or snack. But what do you do if you have leftovers? Can you reheat muffins in an air fryer? These are questions I had before testing out a couple of solutions!

As a general rule, you can reheat muffins in an air fryer. I would recommend preheating your air fryer at 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Reheat the muffins for about 2-3 minutes at a time, checking on them frequently. I found that roughly 5 minutes works for me but check often so they don’t dry out.

Below, I will go deeper into what you should expect when reheating muffins in an air fryer. I will also share some tips on how to get the best results! Nobody wants to munch on a cold, dull muffin. Read on to learn how to reheat for a perfect, warm, delicious treat!

How Do You Reheat Muffins In An Air Fryer?

To reheat muffins in an air fryer, start by preheating your air fryer to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, place the muffins in the air fryer basket and cook for about two to three minutes. Check on them frequently to make sure they don’t overcook or they may dry out.

What should you expect when reheating muffins in an air fryer? When reheating muffins in an air fryer, you can expect them to be slightly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside.

This is due to the fact that air fryers cook food by circulating hot air around it.

I recently wrote an article where I talk about the 4 Best Air Fryers on the market right now. Click on this article if you’re looking for a throughout breakdown of these 4 air fryers.

I personally use and recommend the COSORI Smart Wifi Air Fryer. This air fryer has served me for many years and works great for warming up your delicious cookies. This air fryer even has an app that alerts me every time my baked goods are ready while connecting to my Alexa or Google Assistant. Check out this Air Fryer on Amazon!

Also, expect the muffins to reheat faster in an air fryer than they would in an oven. This is because air fryers cook food at a higher temperature than ovens.

You want to be careful not to overcook the muffins, or they will be dry. You can do this by setting the timer for two to three minutes and checking on them frequently.

If you can reheat muffins in an air fryer that must mean you can bake them in one too? Well, it’s a little more complicated than that. Below, I talk about what you need to know to bake muffins in an air fryer.

Can You Bake Muffins in an Air Fryer?

Generally speaking, you can bake muffins in an air fryer. Place the muffin batter in the cups and then place them in the air fryer basket. Cook at a temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10-15 minutes or until cooked through. Let cool before removing from the air fryer.

Here’s what you should know when baking muffins in an air fryer:

They bake faster than in an oven

Because an oven doesn’t leak out a lot of heat, the muffins will cook more evenly and faster than they would in an oven. I would recommend setting a 10-minute timer and then checking on them every 2 minutes until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.

*By the way, I recently wrote an article about How To Properly Reheat Muffins In An Oven. This article talks about what you need to do in order to make sure that your muffins are reheated properly to make them taste like they’re freshly baked! You can check out this article here!

You may have to bake smaller batches

Unlike an oven, an air fryer can doesn’t have as much space. This means you might have to bake the muffins in smaller batches.

This isn’t much of a sacrifice since baking time gets cut drastically! I found muffins to be cooked in the oven for 25-30 minutes compared to an air fryer which can be between 10-15 minutes.

The results will be different than oven-baked muffins

When baked in an air fryer, expect the muffins to be lighter and fluffier and have a slightly different texture than when baked in an oven. This is due to the fact that air fryers cook food by circulating hot air around it.

I personally enjoy using the air fryer because I love having a crisp exterior and a soft, moist interior. It’s a great texture combination to have when enjoying your morning cup of coffee!

You might need parchment paper

Parchment paper will prevent the muffins from sticking to the air fryer basket. Simply line the basket with parchment paper and then place the silicone baking cups with the batter inside. This will accelerate clean-up just in case the batter overflows.

How to Bake Muffins in an Air Fryer?

To bake muffins in an air fryer, start by preheating your air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line the basket with parchment paper and place the silicone baking cups with the batter inside. Make sure to fill up 3/4 of the way to prevent overflow. Cook for 10-15 minutes or until cooked through.

When I bake muffins in the air fryer I have to use these Silicone Muffin Liners which are super easy to clean and use! They make it very easy to remove the muffins out of the muffin pan without getting stuck. Check out the link on Amazon!

Below is a step-by-step procedure I always follow when baking muffins in an air fryer:

Step One:

Preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. This is the right temperature to bake muffins in an air fryer without overdrying.

Step Two:

Line the basket with parchment paper. This will prevent the muffin silicone cups from sticking to the basket. This also helps with the clean-up process if the muffin batter overflows while baking.

Step Three:

Place the silicone baking cups with the batter inside the basket. Make sure they are spaced out so that the hot air can circulate around them evenly. Filling the silicone cups will prevent the muffins from overflowing.

Step Four:

Set a timer for 10-15 minutes. This will ensure that the muffins are cooked through but not overcooked. I have found my muffins to be done at around 13 muffins but it depends on your batter and the amount you put in.

Check to see if your muffins are done by inserting a toothpick into the muffin. If it comes out with crumbs, bake for an additional 2 minutes. Once the toothpick comes out clean, they’re ready.

Step Five:

Let the muffins cool before removing them from the air fryer. This will prevent them from sticking to the silicone baking cups. Open the air fryer to let out heat to prevent them from drying out.

Warming up your muffins the right way is no simple task. I always want to be able to serve my muffins as if they’re freshly baked every time, even if they’re a few hours old. I found that warming up my muffins in an air fryer is the best and most efficient way to get them on the table looking fresh as soon as possible.

Can You Use Paper Muffin Cups In An Air Fryer?

As a general rule, you can use paper muffin cups in an air fryer. I would recommend using cups when reheating muffins as it will prevent the muffins from sticking to the basket. Just make sure to place them on a piece of parchment paper so they don’t get attached and stuck to the air fryer.

When baking, I recommend using silicone baking cups. These are great as they can be placed directly in the air fryer basket and ensures even baking.

When reheating muffins, I would rather place them in paper liners for quick disposal as well as prevent them from being misshaped by silicone cups.

Can You Put A Muffin Pan In An Air Fryer?

Generally speaking, you can put a muffin pan in an air fryer. Many air fryer models come with specific muffin pan shapes that easily fit into the air fryer. Double-check the model number and name of your air fryer to look up accessories, such as muffin pans, for it.

If you cannot figure out which air fryer you have or how to find accessories for it, there are many universal air fryer muffin pans you can find!

I personally found that a universal one is cheaper than buying a specific one and is easily replaceable if damaged.

Do Air Fryer Muffins Taste Better?

Generally speaking, whether or not air fryer muffins taste better is subjective. I personally think they have a fluffier texture on the inside and a crisper texture on the outside compared to oven-baked muffins. The flavor and texture can also be influenced by the flavor and batter you use.

Some people might not like the change in texture as it can be unexpected. If you are unsure, I would recommend trying a recipe that you know and love in the air fryer first.

This way, you can compare the results for yourself.

The reason I believe that muffins taste better in the air fryer is because of their texture. Oven-baked muffins are spongier and crumbly while air fryer muffins tend to have a crisper exterior and a soft, moist interior.
